Call for Israeli CTOs to Join the Pears Program & MEST Ghana’s Tech Mentoring Program

The Pears Program for Global Innovation is partnering with MEST Ghana on a mentoring program for early and growth-stage Ghanian technology startups that are participating in the MEST Express program. We are looking for Israeli CTOs who can help some of the most promising entrepreneurs in Ghana enhance their tech capabilities and build powerful products.

About MEST Express: MEST Express is an acceleration program, targeted at early and growth-stage startups in Ghana. Through advisory and hands-on support, founders will receive training on how to build resilience, increase business acumen and technical know-how in order to ramp up traction, gain market share, boost sales, and create meaningful impact.

What Are We Looking for in Tech Mentors?: We are looking for experienced CTOs that have an interest in sharing their knowledge with MEST Express participants. The MEST team has identified the following set of skills that would benefit their accelerator companies. Mentors do not need to have experience in all of the following areas but can provide valuable expertise on at least one.

  • Software Architecture (with a focus on data collection and scaling)

  • User Experience Design (especially mobile and responsive)

  • Platform Dynamics and Network Effects

  • VR/AR

  • Data and Media Compression

Why be a MEST Tech Mentor?: Being a tech mentor is an opportunity to share your valuable technology expertise with young and capable African entrepreneurs that are looking to use technology to solve some of the continent’s largest problems. In addition, being part of MEST’s programming will connect you to rapidly growing technology companies in Africa.

What is Required From the Mentors?:

  • Time Commitment: Mentors will be expected to commit one hour every two weeks to their assigned companies from April 5th until August 20th, 2021.

  • Communication: Communication from the MEST Express team to Tech Mentors will be primarily via email. The program will also have a Slack channel where communication between startups and the experts and mentors will occur. General updates and informal communication to all participants of the program will also happen on slack. MEST, therefore, encourages all experts, mentors, and startups to keep an eye on their email inbox and relevant slack channels in order not to miss any important communications.

How to sign up?: If you are interested in participating as a MEST Express technology mentor, please complete this form by March 15th!
