ReWalk places 500th spinal cord system

Zachary Comeau of the the Worcester Business Journal reported that Rewalk recently placed its 500th medical device for patients with spinal cord injuries. According to the article, national coverage policies that pay for the Rewalk exoskeleton are in place in Germany, Italy and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. There are currently 38 different payers in the U.S. and 39 in Germany that provide positive coverage for individual system procurements. Furthermore, an upcoming FDA application for a device tailored to stroke patients is expected in early 2019, and a product could be on the market by next year's third quarter.
