ORT Yokneam High School Student develops app for autistic people

The target is to make the world clearer for autistic people.

Ido Arbili, a Senior student at OrRT Peres High School is developing an android application to enable better communication between him and his friends.

The app will include special imoji’s.

Although Ido faces autism, he completed his BAGRUT exam last year in Computer Science (CS). During this year, he is working on a large-scale project with the guide of his CS teacher - Danny Benishay (dannyb@yalon.ort.org.il) who offered him the opportunity to develop an app for people facing challenges like his. One of the main obstacles for such people is the ability to communicate over WhatsApp; Ido decided to develop a suitable communication chat for people like himself. The app will color messages that have been sent and includes emojis which can be understood by similar people with autism. The School Principal Ada Avercohen-shemsh said “I’m very proud with Ido’sof work, a superb student who always thinks how he can further contribute to the world”. Ido is plans to complete the app in the next 6 months
