WHAT’S ON AT THE ALZHEIMER’S SHOW 2017

  • Hear from the experts: leading professionals will be covering a wide range of topics including research developments, diagnosis, managing behavior, end of life care, drugs and personal experiences of life with dementia.

  • Find new products: hundreds of practical solutions and new ideas from the UK’s leading specialist dementia companies and organisations.

  • Practical help and advice tips: listen to family carers sharing their experiences and professionals discussing practical topics including the Mental Capacity Act, paying for care, eating difficulties and improving hospital care.

  • Put your questions to the experts: daily Question Time panel sessions with many of the speakers.

  • Professional advice: book free 1-2-1 appointments with Admiral Nurses, The Law Society and Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Advisors. All sessions can be booked on the day.

  • Get involved: take part in practical workshops with sessions designed to help those supporting a person with dementia. Activities include singing, art, pet therapy and Cognitive Stimulation Therapy. (London only)

  • Come and take part in a table tennis challenge: discover how this activity can help in the early stages of dementia.

  • Alzheimer’s Society training sessions: 45 minute informative, free session based on the one day course ‘Stepping inside Dementia’. Sign up at Alzheimer’s Society stand F10. (London only)

  • Personal experience: Hear from Keith Oliver, Peter Berry and Joy Watson about their lives with dementia.

  • Angela Rippon and Hazel Blears: Meet Angela on Saturday 10th and Hazel on Saturday 24th. They will be hosting the main theatres and chairing the Question Time panel sessions.

  • CPD Accredited: The whole 2 day event will enable professional visitors gain valuable CPD points.

  • Learn about what’s new: meet many of the exhibitors discussing the latest and best products in The Exhibitor Workshop.

  • A sensory experience of dementia: in the Virtual Dementia Tour Bus. (Manchester only)
