Raanan Gewirtzman is a business executive and entrepreneur with 30 years of experience in a variety of international technology companies.
Raanan served as CEO and Board Member of BroadLight, a private company and leader of Fiber-To-The-Home market, between 2007 and 2012 until the company was acquired by Broadcom for more than $200M!!!
Under his direct business leadership, BroadLight turned from a startup to a successful growth company. Raanan and the strong team that he built brought BroadLight to the forefront of the telecom market with sales from all over the world, while achieving strong business position in China.
Raanan joined BroadLight at 2003 and before he became the CEO of the company, he served as COO and leader of BroadLight’s development and production. Raanan successfully ramped up BroadLight’s silicon and optical transceivers into mass deliveries.
Before joining BroadLight, Raanan held a Vice President role atVirata Corporation, which merged into GlobespanVirata. He managed R&D teams in Cambridge UK and Israel, that provided the market with leading broadband communication processors.
Between 1987 and 2000, Raanan served at IBM Research in Israel and in the USA, where he managed and created new technologies of sotware tools for semiconductor design as well as semiconductor products.
In 2009 while serving at BroadLight, Raanan was named as CEO of the Year - Israeli Hi-Tech Companies. Raanan co-authored a dozen patents in processor design and verification. He holds Practical Engineer degree in Mechanics, BSc cum laude in Computer Engineering and an MSc in Electrical Engineering specialized in Artificial Neural Networks from The Technion Institute of Technology.
Today, Raanan is engaged in helping early stage startups with transformational technologies to define long and lasting vision and build strong companies.
